The Three-Minute Practice That Grounds Me Every Day
By Asavari Bhardwaj
I used to think I didn't have time for self-care. I was too busy, too overwhelmed, too behind. And then I realized that's exactly when I need it most.
So I created a practice that takes three minutes. Just three. And it's become the most important part of my day.
The Practice
I do this first thing in the morning, before I check my phone, before I talk to anyone, before I do anything else.
I sit on the edge of my bed. Feet flat on the floor. Hands on my thighs.
I close my eyes and I take three deep breaths. Really deep. In through my nose, out through my mouth.
The Oil
Then I take our Balm and I massage it into my feet. Just my feet. I press into the soles, I massage each toe, I work the oil into my heels.
This takes maybe two minutes. While I'm doing it, I set an intention for the day. Not a goal, an intention. How do I want to feel? How do I want to show up?
The Grounding
Then I stand up. I feel my feet on the floor. I take one more deep breath.
And I'm ready.
Why It Works
In Ayurveda, the feet are the foundation. When we ground through our feet, we ground our entire being. When we oil our feet, we calm our nervous system.
But more than that, this practice is a promise to myself. It's me saying: I matter. My wellbeing matters. I'm worth three minutes.
The Ripple Effect
On days when I do this, everything is different. I'm more patient. I'm more present. I'm less reactive.
On days when I skip it, I notice. I'm more scattered, more anxious, more likely to snap at people I love.
Three minutes. That's the difference.
For You
You don't need our Balm, though it helps. You just need three minutes and the willingness to prioritize yourself.
Try it tomorrow. Just once. See how it feels. See how your day unfolds.
This is what I mean when I talk about healing the world, one ritual at a time. It starts with three minutes. It starts with you. It starts with this.
